Al Azhar 67 Junior High School Celebrates Indonesia Independence Day With Exciting Competition



SLEMAN - Al Azhar 67 Junior High School marked Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day with a series of exciting competitions, bringing students together in a spirited celebration of national pride and unity. The event, held on August 16th, transformed the school grounds into a vibrant arena of friendly competition and cultural appreciation.

 

The day began with a flag-raising ceremony, honouring the sacrifices of Indonesia’s heroes and the significance of independence. Following the ceremony, the students eagerly participated in a variety of games and modern contests, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of Indonesian culture.

 

Among the highlights were the putting a pencil into a bottle, word scramble game, arranging cups into a pyramid, moving a ball with chopsticks, and putting a ball into a hole which brought laughter and cheers from both participants and spectators. Each group competed enthusiastically, with students showcasing teamwork, strategy, and determination.

 

In addition to the physical competitions, there were also academic contests, called “Clash of 67”. These activities allowed students to answer questions about Indonesia in order to deepen their understanding of Indonesia’s history and cultural heritage.

 

The event concluded with an award ceremony, where winners of the various competitions were honoured prizes. The principal congratulated all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, highlighting the importance of such events in fostering a sense of community and national identity.

 

The Indonesia Independence Day celebrations at Al Azhar 67 Junior High School were not just a display of athleticism and talent, but also a testament to the school’s commitment to instilling patriotism and pride in its students. As the day ended, the school community left with a renewed sense of unity and a deeper appreciation for their country’s rich history and traditions.
